SRD SASSA Status Check

Check your SASSA SRD R370 application status using your South African ID number and the mobile number registered with your application. The result can help you see whether your grant is approved, pending or declined and whether a payment date is available.

SASSA payment dates for September 2026

The main SASSA grants follow a monthly payment schedule. The dates below are the official dates for the current payment month. Choose the row for your own grant. Do not use an Older Persons, Disability or Children's Grant date as the payment date for an SRD R370 application.

Grant type Payment date What you should do
Older Persons Grant 02 September Use your normal payment method
Disability Grant 03 September Use your normal payment method
Children's Grants 04 September Use your normal payment method
SRD R370 Grant 24 to 30 September Use the status checker above

Important: An SRD R370 payment date is not the same for every applicant. Use your own ID number and registered mobile number to see the date linked to your application.

What does your SASSA status mean?

Read the exact wording and the period shown in your result. A general explanation cannot replace a message or request for information that belongs to your own application.

Result How to read it Next step
Pending The result does not yet give a final decision. Look for requests for information and check again for an update.
Approved The decision is positive for the period shown. Read the separate payment information and see whether a date is included.
Declined The decision is negative for the period shown. Read the reason and follow the official appeal instructions if you disagree.
Details need attention The message asks you to check or complete information. Use the official SASSA service to follow the instructions.
No result or loading error The lookup has not returned a usable result. Check your entries, then try the official checker.

If your status is pending

A pending result means the application is still being reviewed. Check whether the message asks you to complete or correct anything. Write down the month and the wording so you can recognise an update later. Do not read a pending result as either an approval or a rejection.

If your application is declined

Start with the stated reason. If you disagree, use the Department of Social Development SRD appeals portal for the procedure and the deadline that applies. An appeal should answer the reason given for the decision. Keep your submission confirmation. Do not submit false or different personal information.

Approved but no payment date?

An approval message and confirmation that money has reached you are two different pieces of information. If no payment date appears, do not fill the gap with a date from another applicant's screenshot or from an unrelated grant schedule.

  1. Confirm that you are reading the month you meant to check.
  2. Read the full result for payment messages or instructions.
  3. If you are asked to review your details, use the official SRD website.
  4. Check again later, and contact SASSA about payment questions that stay unresolved.

A date appears but the money has not arrived

Check your account, or the collection instructions for your payment method. Write down the date shown and any reference you have before you contact SASSA. Avoid changing your details again and again to try to trigger a payment.

Having trouble checking your SRD status?

Compare the ID number and cellphone number you entered with the ones used for your application. Your South African ID number must contain 13 digits, and the mobile number must be the one connected to your application. A different or incorrect number can stop the tool from finding your result. If this page returns nothing, use the official status checker to confirm.

You no longer have your registered cellphone number

Use the contact-detail guidance on the official SASSA SRD website. Do not use another person's application details to get past a verification step.

The result is different on two websites

Check that both results refer to the same applicant and the same month. Confirm the result with SASSA before you submit an appeal, change your details or make payment arrangements.

SASSA status check questions

Does approved mean the money is already in my account?

No. An approved result means the application was accepted for the period shown. Read the payment information as well, then check your account or collection channel separately. The money can take extra time depending on your bank or payment method.

Why am I approved with no payment date?

An application can be approved before SASSA assigns the payment date. You do not normally need to apply again. Check your status again later to see whether a date has been added.

Can I use someone else's payment date?

No. Use the payment information attached to your own application. Another person's result does not confirm your date.

Should I appeal a loading error?

A loading error does not show that your application was declined. Get your real decision through the official checker first.

Can I check my SASSA balance here?

No. This tool can show application and payment information. It cannot show the current balance in your private bank account. Use your bank's official service to confirm whether money has arrived.

How often should I check my SRD status?

Check again when your result is pending, when you are approved without a pay date, or when you are waiting for a monthly update. Rely on the result connected to your own details.

Is the SASSA R350 status check the same thing?

Usually yes. The grant was previously known as the R350 grant and is now commonly called the SRD R370 grant. Both searches normally refer to the same Social Relief of Distress application.

Where can I check appeal instructions?

Use the official SRD appeals portal for the current procedure and the deadlines that apply. Do not rely on an undated screenshot.

Protect your personal information. Never post your ID number, banking details or a one-time PIN in public comments. Hide personal details before you share a screenshot to ask for help.
